Pojie Arts provides a range of services to individuals, community groups, schools and organisations:
Performance making Pojie Arts works with dancers (trained and untrained) to create original performances. The performances can be site specific and/or tailored specifically to the objective outcomes of the event. The performance can also be interactive, where the audience is invited to engage and participate in the performance. As a company, Pojie Arts works within arts institutions and galleries; taking inspiration from the architecture and the artists' work and helping to bring the place to life with short improvised or choreographed performance work.
Engagement and participation Pojie Arts works in the community with small or large groups of people delivering inclusive dance and cross-arts workshops. This can be run as a weekly course over several months or an intensive one or two week residence. Benefits of this training contribute directly to building valuable life-skills and include the ability to make creative decisions and communicate decisions in a collaborative and constructive way, increase appreciation and understanding of dance, music and art, increased range of movement and control (coordination and flexibility). Pojie Arts' work in schools aligns itself with curricula objectives and with wider global competencies.
Training and consultation Pojie Arts offers training in inclusive arts delivery and access to teachers, artists and professionals working within related fields. We aim to be a part of continued research and mapping within the arts and disability fields in China, we seek partnerships that facilitate skills-sharing and knowledge transfer. As part of these aims, we offer consultation to interested individuals and organisations.
